Smee: Gud mornin’ Neva’land!
Jolly Roger Crew: Gud mornin’ Mr. Smee!
((HOOK!)) children of the 80’s and 90’s insert fist-pump here 👊👊
Well, this is the second night in a row that I’ve gotten up way too early with my little guy. And again, he required a drink and a wee snack before going back to bed. Not too many years ago I can remember feeling as I suppose he feels right now. Restless, optimistic about tomorrow (which is actually t’day) and quite possibly, just in need of something to munch. I can’t be positive, but it seems like ever since our son has been introduced to pirates, a new thirst for adventure has awakened in him.
It’s only obvious why he could not stay asleep. There are sword fights to be won, forts to be built and of course, new book adventures to read. Who could simply lie in bed when there are so many things to be done? Only boring adults.
If you’re a mom, you probably know the drill. We get up. Prepare some lite refreshment and afterward the little-bits curl, snuggle-down and before you know it – get ready, set, Dreamland. That’s my method. Unfortunately, I am often left, well…. (not to reference a Katy Perry song) I’m wide awake. In conclusion, I’m pretty certain that I need to switch up my approach to life and be more like my three year old.
Now that I have rambled on, siting one of the greatest films of my childhood as well as the praised candy-sweet popstar (who in my opinion isn’t even awesome enough to be in the same post) …off to bed I go.
Get excited for tomorrow/today! It just may be the best day ever! Carpe Diem!
