My Infatuation with Rain

6953397489_ecc18d2a6a_nWhen it’s raining
And the cool drops meet the ground
Sometimes I pretend it’s you
Gracefully, torrentially
If that makes me sound crazy
I don’t really care
But no one ever questions
Why they’re here and not up there
No one ever asks the raindrops for the reason
They fell so far
They couldn’t help themselves
They were compelled to
Reach the driest places
Washing over everything they touch
Revealing beauty
Comforting the ground beneath
